Acceptance

By downloading or using MonKey ("the Software"), developed and published by Pear Production ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these terms.

License

MonKey is proprietary software distributed through the Mac App Store. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the application on your personal devices in accordance with Apple's Standard EULA.

Description of Service

MonKey is a sandboxed macOS utility providing:

Keyboard layout autocorrection — detects and fixes text typed in the wrong keyboard layout (unlimited)
Translation — translates selected text between languages using cloud AI (2/day free, unlimited with PRO; offline fallback via Apple Translation)
Grammar & style checking — identifies errors in selected text using cloud AI (2/day free, unlimited with PRO; offline fallback via macOS spellcheck)
AI Wizard — runs custom AI-powered actions on selected text (PRO only)

Free Tier

The free version is provided at no cost with core features: unlimited layout correction, 2 AI translations per day, and 2 AI grammar checks per day (same cloud AI as PRO; offline fallback when no internet). It may be used for personal and commercial purposes. No account is required.

PRO Subscription

PRO features (unlimited AI translation, unlimited advanced grammar, AI Wizard) require an active subscription
Pricing: $3.99/month, $39.99/year, or $59.99/2 years
Subscriptions are billed through the Mac App Store via Apple's StoreKit and renew automatically
You may cancel at any time from your Apple ID subscription settings

AI-Generated Content

PRO features use third-party AI services to process your text. AI-generated translations, corrections, and wizard outputs may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting any changes before use.

Accessibility Permission

MonKey requires macOS Accessibility permission to monitor keyboard input, detect layout mismatches, and correct text in applications. This permission is used solely for the app's core functionality and is not used to collect or transmit personal data.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the application
Abuse PRO features in ways that exceed reasonable personal or professional use
Share, transfer, or resell your subscription

MonKey is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of this software, including but not limited to incorrect text corrections, mistranslations, or unintended text replacements.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website.
